Westfield Local Schools Information
Westfield has an excellent school system. The district consists of one high school, two middle schools with grades 6-8, and six elementary schools with grades K-5.
The Westfield School District is a system built on successful cooperation among family, school and community. It strives to prepare students to achieve excellence and to become responsible citizens through rigorous educational programs which respect individual differences and diversity. Westfield's schools start children on computers by the first grade.
Westfield High School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary
Schools and the New Jersey Department of Education. This school focuses largely on college preparatory classes with more than 165 courses in business, fine arts, music, practical arts and college prep. It offers 17 Advanced Placement courses and 87% of the grades are 3 or higher. In addition, Westfield High School provides more than 60 co-curricular activities, in addition to 27 varsity athletic teams, and high quality vocal and instrumental programs. Over 90% of Westfield High School graduates go on to continue their education with more than 80% going on to four year colleges.
